We updated and patched the game but want to keep the game jam version to show what we did in 48h.
You'll find the new version here: https://yorshiki.itch.io/liberty

Short narrative game made on Bitsy for the GTMK game jam 2020.
Theme: "Out of control".

Full playthrough time: ~10 minutes.

/!\TW : Violence, strong language, car accident, murder, self-harm, break up, anxiety. /!\

/!\ Story-breaking bug! In the room with Edward, go one tile down, then directly to the chair on a straight line to walk on the left tile of the seat.
If you don't do that, the most important dialogue of the game won't play ^^' /!\

It was our first game, first game jam and first time using Bitsy :3
Due to time constraints and the engine (it broke 20 minutes before the end, dammit), the games still has some bugs, so sorry about that.
We created around 60 unique rooms and hundreds of assets, so Bitsy was on its knees, it seems.

Credits:

Choléra : assets, game design, code
Ambre "Yorshiki" Dautry: assets, game design, dialogues
Malleek: help with ideas

The image of the manor is a pixelized version of the cover of Gone Home (Fullbright, 2013, https://gonehome.game/ ).

Oh by the way, there are two main endings ;)

Wow ! the game has such a distinct identity ! the story telling  is really good and it's a very good nod to 90s classics ahah. The visuals remind of atari's E.T. but there are none of the terrible gameplay issues ahaha.

you guys can be proud !

Haha!
Well, to be compared to a well-known game is quite rewarding, I think ^^

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
